

Mango
Mango is a stone fruit produced from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit.
Most of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes. The genus belongs to the cashew family Anacardiaceous. Mangoes are native to South Asia, from where the “common mango” or “Indian mango”, Mangifera indica, has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the tropics. Other Mangifera species are grown on a more localized basis.
Worldwide, there are several hundred cultivators of mango. Depending on the cultivator, mango fruit varies in size, shape, sweetness, skin colour and flesh colour which may be pale yellow, gold, or orange.
Mango is the King of Fruits & is the national fruit of India. There are around 283 types of mangoes found in India, out of which only 20 are well-known.
Alphonso :
Alphonso Mango is one of the best variety of mango found in India in terms of sweetness and flavour. Kesar mangoes owe their name to their saffron appearance and heavenly taste. This variety, highly renowned for their distinct sweet flavour, is considered to be the ‘Queen of Mangoes’. Kesar Mangoes is also simply called Gir Kesar because cultivar grown in the foothills of Girnar in the districts of Junagadh and Amreli. Available from May to July, Kesar mangoes are sought after as an ingredient for exotic dishes.
